Why I volunteer – William Hammond

In July 2016, my grandma went to Hospice in her final hours because Hospice was just like home, and she wanted to relax before she passed on.

Ever since then, I’ve wanted people to have the same experience; to relax and feel good about leaving this world. My mom and I have been donating money that we have raised through bottle drives and garage sales, baked cookies and sweets for holidays and made angels so the patients would feel watched over. I love the reactions I get to see when I take someone a sweet or an angel, and that just makes it all worth it.
