Hospice Georgian Triangle provides compassionate care in the home and at Campbell House for individuals and families dealing with life-limiting illness living in the communities of The Town of Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Clearview Township. Care programs come at no cost to the patient or client and focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both the patient and family, enhancing quality of life.

The Hospice Georgian Triangle Board is seeking candidates eager to advance and contribute to our mission of “excellent palliative care for all.” The Board provides executive oversight to staff and volunteers providing end-of-life care at Campbell House, pain and symptom management, respite care, volunteer support in the home, and community services including individual and group grief and bereavement counselling.

The Opportunity

To make an impact as a leader offering guidance supporting hospice palliative care. Board members are responsible for providing oversight and advice in the determination of the mission, vision, values, strategies, operational goals, risks, and future planning of Hospice Georgian Triangle. Directors monitor the financial and operational performance of the organization, identify and mitigate risks, participate in committee work, and act as an advocate and an ambassador of the organization.

Preferred background

The Hospice Georgian Triangle Board looks for individuals who demonstrate a variety of skills, education, and experience as we strive to have a well-balanced board. We currently are seeking volunteers with the following experience:

· A background in health care leadership, preferably with clinical and administrative experience,

· A legal background, and

· Senior business leadership background.

· Resident of one of the communities we serve.

As Hospice Georgian Triangle continues to move forward, we look for staff, volunteers and board members that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.

Expectations

Board members must be able to attend monthly Board meetings as well as participate on two committees – approximately 6-8 hours per month.
