When Susan expressed her final wish, it wasn’t for travel or adventure—it was to see her beloved granddaughter, Laura, perform one last time at the Collingwood Circus School.

Laura, Susan’s only granddaughter, shares a deep and special bond with her grandmother. Earlier in the year, Susan was able to attend her grandsons’ sports events while she was in better health. As her condition progressed, mobility became more difficult. But her wish remained simple and deeply meaningful: to watch Laura perform her aerial silks routine one final time.

Thanks to the Living Wish program through Hospice Georgian Triangle, that wish came true.

Julia, the owner of the Collingwood Circus School, quickly stepped in to help, making room in the school’s schedule for a private family performance just for Susan. Laura performed gracefully, suspended in the air, /her strength and artistry a tribute to the love she shares with her grandmother.

To ensure Susan’s comfort, Dr. Boyd, Lisa, and Sanna—dedicated hospice nurses—voluntarily accompanied her to the event. As Susan requires her legs to be positioned flat due to limited mobility, special transportation was arranged through the R&R vehicle service.

The CBC was also there to capture the touching story, with reporter Glory attending to document the experience and share Susan’s journey with a broader audience.

This unforgettable day was only possible thanks to the incredible staff and volunteers at Hospice Georgian Triangle, whose efforts brought peace, joy, and connection to Susan and her family in such a meaningful way.

Thank you for making this beautiful moment happen—and for helping a grandmother’s heartfelt wish come true.
